Rimouski’s port infrastructure is located in close proximity to a populated area and sensitive areas for marine wildlife and flora. The SPBSG is committed to maintaining harmony with coastal communities and the wildlife and flora habitats around the port.
Furthermore, the SPBSG would like to establish a structured approach to maintaining a positive relationship with the community throughout the project.
This will involve consulting with the project’s stakeholders in order to notify them of the issues with the current infrastructure, the proposed solutions, the anticipated impact and the planned mitigative actions. The consultations will also be an opportunity to hear and take into account the stakeholders’ concerns in order to adapt the project to Rimouski’s social, economic and environmental context.
Participants of the consultation process will be able to share their concerns, needs, interests and ideas. As a result, the SPBSG will be able to base their actions on the results of the consultations and studies carried out, in particular those concerning the environment and engineering.
