Port of GROS‑CACOUNA

Mandate and location

Located at the intersection of Autoroutes 20 and 85, the Port of Gros-Cacouna occupies prime real estate opposite the mouth of the Saguenay River. Renowned for its ease of access and large storage capacity, the port is situated 215 km downstream from Quebec City, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence.

In addition, this public port has a wide-ranging mandate with dry bulk, wind turbine components, explosives, forest products and general cargo being transhipped at the Port of Gros-Cacouna.

Safety instructions

The following regulations must be adhered to at each of our sites and at all times

Have on hand all required work permits.

Dispose of your garbage at the designated areas.

Do not consume drugs or alcohol when on SPBSG property.

Do not circumvent fences, worksite areas, or safety and security barriers.

Only smoke within the designated areas.

Always wear the following CSA-approved equipment: Safety helmet, safety boots, high-visibility vest, and personal flotation device (PFD) within three metres of the wharf.

Immediately report any injury, defect, hazard or incident to the authorities.

Respect workers not working inside motor vehicles. They always have the right of way.

Keep away from the mooring lines of a vessel.

Wear your seat belt at all times when inside a vehicle; this applies to all passengers.
